ISO 14001 Accredia Timeline

LinkedIn Post - With the transition underway for ISO 14001, there are slight variations on key dates that need to be noted between Accredia and UKAS timelines. The dates listed below are Accredia recommendations, with a note on UKAS details:

within 6 months – 30/10/2026: Accreditation Bodies must be ready to start accreditation/transition activities in accordance with ISO 14001:2026 - UKAS are allowing declarations to be made now
within 9 months – 30/01/2027: Accredited certification bodies must declare their ability to manage the transition to ISO 14001:2026 - UKAS will begin the decision on transitions in November 2026
within 12 months – 30/04/2027: Accreditation Bodies must complete the transition to ISO 14001:2026 of the certification bodies they accredit - UKAS is the same
within 36 months – 30/04/2029: All organizations certified under accreditation must have completed the transition to ISO 14001:2026. - UKAS is the same
