What is ISO/IEC 29110?



ISO/IEC 29110 provides guidance for very small organisations and departments to utilise during the design and development of systems and software. The lifecycle processes outlined within this standard can be utilised at any level in a systems structure and also includes a profile specification for the Basic profile.

Once certified, organisations can proudly promote themselves as certificate holders in any of their promotional materials and can include the URS certification logo free of charge.



 



Who requires an ISO/IEC 29110 certification?



ISO/IEC 29110 focuses on very small organisations, departments and project teams of up to 25 people, and the guidance provided in the standard is intended for software development teams of this size. Clause 6 serves as an introduction to profile specification and how the specific guidance combines with the base standards that are in place.



 



Clause 7 – Basic profile specifications:



In the final section of the standard, clause 7 expands on the previous section with the addition of specifications for basic profiles and project management. Along with further requirements for software implementation.
