The Clean Label Project focuses on food and consumer product safety issues that consumers are becoming increasingly concerned about. This includes; heavy metals, pesticide residues, Genetically Modified Organisms (基因作物 GMO), plasticizers, and truth in labelling.

The Clean Label Project provides a market tool and evaluation criteria for growers, suppliers, manufacturers, brand owners, and retailers to begin identifying, evaluating, and maximizing purity within their products

What are the three levels of Clean Label Certification?



 



There are three levels of Clean Label approved by the Taiwan Government that cover the inclusion or absence of a total of 803 additives. All ingredients in the following three levels are compliant with Regulatory Requirements including NO-GMO, pesticide residue, heavy metal:



Clean Label LEVEL I



Level I allows the usage of 509 types of additives, but excludes; Preservatives, artificial flavours, artificial chemical colours, artificial chemical sweeteners, bleaching agents, colour fasting agents, coagulating agents, leavening agents.



Clean Label LEVEL II



Clean Label LEVEL II only allows the usage of 8 classifications, that includes a total of 82 food additives.



Clean Label LEVEL III



Level III sets the strict requirement of 100% natural products, which includes no food additives.



How long will your Clean Label Certification certificate be valid for?



Your Clean Label certificate will be valid for at least three years; dependent on the type of site that is being certified.
